How We Deployed Enterprise Wi-Fi Across 14 Locations in 90 Days

A national logistics firm needed consistent, high-performance wireless coverage across every warehouse and office. Here's how we delivered it ahead of schedule.

The Challenge

A national logistics and distribution company with 14 facilities across the Southeast was running on aging wireless infrastructure. Dead zones in warehouses caused scanner failures, voice-over-Wi-Fi dropped in offices, and each site had been configured independently over the years—resulting in a patchwork of vendors, firmware versions, and security policies.

Leadership needed a unified solution that could scale, and they needed it before peak season.

Our Approach

RFIP conducted RF site surveys at all 14 locations within the first two weeks, mapping coverage gaps and interference sources across warehouse floors, loading docks, and office areas.

**1. Standardized Architecture** We designed a single reference architecture using Cisco Catalyst access points and controllers, ensuring every site would operate under the same security policies, SSIDs, and management platform.

**2. Phased Deployment** Rather than disrupting operations across all sites simultaneously, we deployed in rolling two-week sprints—four sites at a time—with each cutover happening over a weekend to minimize downtime.

**3. Centralized Management** All 14 sites now report into a single Cisco DNA Center dashboard, giving the client's IT team real-time visibility into every access point, client device, and performance metric across their entire footprint.

The Results

  • 100% coverage in all warehouse and office areas, verified by post-deployment validation surveys
  • Zero unplanned downtime during the rollout
  • 67% reduction in Wi-Fi-related support tickets within the first 60 days
  • Single pane of glass management across all 14 locations
  • Completed three weeks ahead of the original timeline

Client Feedback

"RFIP didn't just install access points—they gave us a network we can actually manage. For the first time, our IT team has visibility into every site from one screen." — VP of Information Technology
